Septic Eye Sam - free crochet pattern

My son tells me about the weirdest stuff he sees on the Internet and Septic Eye Sam fit's nicely with all the other weird stuff he wants me to make. For keychain version : Septic Eye Sam Keychain

Materials

Ww yarn - I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Glow Worm and blue

F hook

Tapestry needle

1  15mm safety eye (you can us felt, embroider or make Mr, 6sc joined for pupil)

Fiberfill

Abbreviations

Ch: chain

Mr: magic ring

Sl st: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet

Sc2tog: single crochet 2 sts together; decrease

Hdc: half double crochet

Blo: back loop only

F.o. : finish off


Notes

All terms American.   If pattern reads "sc, sc2tog, 2sc" it would be read as, " single crochet, single crochet 2 stitches together, 2 single crochet in the next stitch", directions are to be repeated to end of row/round unless otherwise noted.  As with any pattern, be sure to read through once before beginning, and don't forget to mark your rounds! (I use a bit of contrasting yarn) This is an original design by me, Anna Wilson 2017.



You may do whatever you like with your completed Septic Eye Sam, you can play video games with Sam, make a YouTube video,  or even give them as a gift!  I only ask that you please not claim this pattern as your own, I worked hard to design my Septic Eye Sam :)

Begin:

With blue:
Ch4 join with a sl st.    *if you aren't using a safety eye you can use mr to begin

1: ch1, 6sc (6) join, ch 1 every rnd unless instructed differently

2: 2sc (12)

3: sc, 2sc (18) change to glow worm

4: blo- sc2, 2sc (24)

5: sc3, 2sc (30)

6-  sc4, 2sc (36)

7-20:  sc (36)

21: sc4, sc2tog (30)

22: sc3, sc2tog (24) insert safety eye and secure

23: sc2, sc2tog (18)

24: sc, sc2tog (12)  stuff to your desired firmness

25: sc2tog (6) f.o. close opening, weave in ends


Tail

With glow worm

Ch21

Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st 3, sc 15, 6sc in last (thelse 6sc begin our rounds)

2- begin work in continuous rnd- 2sc (12)

3- hdc, 2hdc (18)

4- hdc 18, sc1 f.o. leave a long tail for sewing.



Finishing

Take the tail piece and place over back of eye, smash it a bit to give it a realistic look as you sew in place.
