Notes

All terms American.   If pattern reads "sc, sc2tog, 2sc" it would be read as, " single crochet, single crochet 2 stitches together, 2 single crochet in the next stitch", directions are to be repeated to end of row/round unless otherwise noted.  As with any pattern, be sure to read through once before beginning, and don't forget to mark your rounds! (I use a bit of contrasting yarn) This is an original design by me, Anna Wilson 2017.

You may do whatever you like with your completed Pussy Power Hat, you can wear it to a political event, sell them,  or even give them as a gift!  I only ask that you please not claim this pattern as your own, I worked hard to design my Pussy Power Hats :)

Style 1:

With J hook

*if chainless foundation is daunting you can ch 41 loosely and starting in 2nd ch from hook hdc. The chainless foundation is more fluid like the rest of crochet and has more stretch.

1: Chainless hdc foundation 40, ch 1 turn *Note: if you don't want hat to fold up over ears reduce the number in foundation  hdc. (About 8-9" will make hat just come over ears)

2-37:  blo hdc (40) ch1 turn f.o. leaving a long tail for sewing (if this is too big or too small increase or decrease rows as needed)

Finishing:
sew 1st row to last row, and across top of hat. Ears form as you pull hat on.

Style 2:

With H hook

1: mr 11dc (11) join ch 2

2: 2dc (22) join ch 2

3: 2dc, dc (33) join ch 2

4: dc2, 2dc (44) join ch 2

5: 2dc, dc10 (48) join ch 2

6: dc11, 2dc (52) join ch 2

7: 2dc, dc12 (56) join ch 2

8: dc13, 2dc (60) join ch 2

9: 2dc, dc14 (64) join ch 2

10-12: dc (64) join ch 2

13-15: camel dc (64) join ch 2

16: camel sc (64) join f.o. weave in ends

Ears:  make 2 inner ears ahead (4 total)

* if you are uncomfortable with mirror crochet you can do rows as normal if you wish

1: Ch 9 sc in 2nd ch and next 7 (8) ch1 turn

2: mirror- sc2tog, sc4, sc2tog (6) ch1 turn

3: sc (6) ch1 turn

4: mirror- sc2tog, sc2, sc2tog (4) ch1 turn

5: sc (4) ch1 turn

6: mirror- sc2tog x2 (2) ch1 turn

7- sc2tog  ch1 turn (f.o. front ear pieces, do not finish off back side)

8: place ear halves together and sc through both halves around ear. Add an extra sc as needed in corners.

* If you are making 2 color ears:
Be sure the forward color is facing you as you crochet

Finishing:

Attach ears to hat, I placed mine over rounds 3-5 .

I hope you had fun whipping up your hats!
