What is a DweeBall?  Do you ever see something out of the corner of your eye but when you turn to look you see nothing?  You aren't crazy, you just glimpsed the shy Dweeball!  

This pattern will teach you the dsc (dendrite single crochet) and yield you one super cute little critter!

Divisive Orange Candidate Stressball - Trumpelstiltskin - Free Crochet Pattern

Seriously, the greatest stressball. 

The Divisive Orange Candidate stressball (based on Trumpelstiltskin) is the best stressball. Not only is it the best stressball, it is the orangest and greatest stress relieving stressball ever, and I know because I feel that way so it must be true. I'm not kidding, no stressball could ever top this.

The Divisive Orange Candidate Stressball was created because I honestly needed to physically poke this candidate in the nose!

The hair is fabulously neon yellow, and perfect. He has his mouth poised to say something...what could it be? Who knows? It's like a wild card for a deck of wildcards.

Materials:

*a small amount of white felt for teeth

*fine tip black marker - to create "teeth"

*orange yarn, small amount black yarn - I used Red Heart Super Saver in orange (pumpkin maybe? it's bright)

*black yarn for eyes

*skn colored yarn for lips _ I used Caron Simply Soft in Lt Country Peach

*Yarn needle (tapestry etc) for weaving in ends and finish work

*F hook - or size you need to create a tight fabric, so stuffing material doesn't show through

*fiberfill 

*scissors

* neon yellow fun fur ( I found this in a discount bag at Hobby Lobby and I knew where it had to be used!)

Abbreviations:

mr- magic ring

blo: back loop only - sts are worked through back loop instead of both

yo- yarn over

ch - chain

f.o. - finish off

sl st - slip stitch

sc - single crochet

sc2tog - sc 2 sts together-decrease : insert hook into first st, yo draw through stitch- 2 loops on hook, insert hook into next st, yo draw through st - 3 sts on hook, yo draw through all sts on hook. If you work this st in the flo (front loop only) you will create an "invisible decrease", the st lies flatter.

hdc: half double crochet

dc: double crochet

tr: treble crochet (some ppl call it "triple crochet")

Notes:

All terms American.   If pattern reads "sc, sc2tog, 2sc" it would be read as, " single crochet, single crochet 2 stitches together, 2 single crochet in the next stitch", directions are to be repeated to end of row/round unless otherwise noted.  As with any pattern, be sure to read through once before beginning, and don't forget to mark your rounds! (I use a bit of contrasting yarn) This is an original design by me, Anna Wilson 2016.

Finishing:

I took a few pictures along the way to help demonstrate location and a little fuzzy surface crochet technique. Someone took picture with a better view: I use  "Method 2" located here .

The mouth I made with a fine tipped Sharpie on some white felt

Look at the front of the face and attach your mouth, you can glue the felt or add a cpl stitches with thread, it will mostly be hidden by the lips.  The lips are placed ch side down and curved around the mouth to give a puckered look.  You could even make one lip, no teeth and use as a pouty looking lower lip form, your stress ball, you decide!

Nose, bridge up

Eyebrow, ear, nose & eye placement.  If you pull the eye yarn to the next eye you can sink his beady eyes in a little, just weave between the eyes while squeezing his eye area towards each other,

Surface crochet hair.  You can see a outline the hairline with the fun fur, then I will continue in a shrinking spiral until i'm happy with the hair amt. 

one row of surface crochet across the outside of his brows helps to add emphasis to his scowling face.

the eyebrow on the left has already been "fluffed".  I do this by using a tapestry needle and pulling the trapped hair loops free. His Eyebrows will need trimming before you are completed but they will loop fuller.

I don't trim his yellow locks, but I do trim the eyebrows after fluffing.

Van the Cat *crochet pattern

Van the Cat

Van the Cat is dear to my heart and a labor of love.  My kittles are always watching me work.  As I sat around trying to decide on my next pattern I looked at Mr Bigglesworth and thought a cat would be nice!
***Pattern is untested as I type, if you find any errors I would greatly appreciate a heads up!***

Mr Bigglesworth (Bigs) and Van the Cat

My sweet kittles Alice was started awake by the flash :3

Materials:

F hook (or hook needed to obtain a tight fabric)
0 steel hook (for nose)
ww yarn in your choice of colors (I used Red Heart Super Saver in White, red & black )
Small amt of black (for mouth)
pink embroidery floss for nose
24mm safety eyes  (You can always embroider this!)
20mm doll joints (you can use safety eyes, or sew in place!)
tapestry needle (to attach limbs etc)
fiberfill


Abbreviations:

MR: magic ring
sl: slip
st: stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: single crochet 2 together
sc3tog: single crochet 3 stitches together

Cut 12 pieces of yarn approximately 6 inches long for hair tufts in ears and cheeks (3 per location) I used my tapestry needle to separate the yarn and trimmed to desired length after on Van.  I used a latch hook style knot to attach the hair.  

Sew tail to back of cat in location you like best.  

Attach the collar around neck of Van with a a few stitches.  

Sew smile on Van using black embroidery floss or yarn.  

Go nuts, give him whiskers or a mustache or anything you like!

Rockstar Mic - Free Crochet Pattern

My granddaughter Anna, a.k.a Noo Noo, came by and we had a sleepover last night.  We watched our usual favorite movies/tv on Netflix/Vudu,  Courage the Cowardly Dog, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost etc.
Well for those who don't know, Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost has The Hex Girls (Eco-Goth girl band) and Anna is a huge fan!  She NEEDED a microphone.  "Really Yaya, I NEED one.  Will you make me one?" she asked in her sweet little Noo Noo way...how could I say no?  I love make believe and exploring with our imaginations!

Anna picked Grape Fizz (Red Heart Super Saver) for the microphone, "and a black singing part"
I used a sport weight white yarn to stitch her name and a couple stars

Materials

small amount of  yarn (size 4) of your choice in black and main color.  I used Red Heart Super Saver, cheap and durable with lots of color choices!

stuffing (fiberfill)

G hook (whatever you need to make a tight enough fabric that stuffing won't show, stuffed hard)

blunt needle (yarn needle) to weave in ends securely

Soul Crochet Pattern

Yes you heard right, Soul.

My kids & granddaughter inspire me when I create... this is what happens when you ask your teenager, "What do you think I should crochet now?"  reply: "OOOH, I want a 'Soul' mom!".  I wasn't disturbed by this odd request because my daughter is kooky like me and that one little request opened up my imagination to all kinds of possibilities!

Make some and hand them out as quick little "spirit" lifters, as trade-able commodities or do like my friend Jamie and add a couple drops of essential oil to alleviate the stress of the day!

Materials:

Small amount of yarn in Soul color of choice and a bit of contrasting for facial features, I used Red Heart Super Saver for mine

F Hook 

Small amount of fiberfill or yarn scraps

Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:

sl st: slip stitch

sc : single crochet

sc2tog : single crochet 2 stitches together, decrease

Mice, Meece, Mouse : Mice for my Kittles crochet pattern

I love my kittles... like, a lot.  They bring me so much happiness <3  Yes, I actually call my cats Kittles and they know I'm talking to them.

My cats have loved playing with these mice since they were kittens so I figured sharing is caring!

This pattern is something I have been whipping up for years and I finally decided to write it down :)

E hook ( whatever you need to keep the stuffing inside ;)

ww yarn in main color (mc) and contrasting color (cc)I used Red Heart Super Saver & With Love acrylic yarns

I don't add catnip to the stuffing, but my cats do enjoy catnip so I squish up some catnip and rub on the outside of their mice ;) you can add or not :)

The fat just walks away... Adipose = Fat

Whovians know what an Adipose Baby is...we all want one.  They are so darn cute!  So today  I'm giving you an opportunity to have one of your own!  Don't crochet?  Here is the listing of my ready to go Adipose Baby =)

So darn cute!

Materials:

F hook (or hook needed to obtain a tight fabric)
small amount of white ww yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in Soft White)
Small amt of black (for mouth)
6mm safety eyes  (You can always embroider this with a bit of black yarn!)
tapestry needle (to attach limbs etc)
fiberfill


Abbreviations:

MR: magic ring
sl: slip
st: stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: single crochet 2 together
f.o.: finish off
FLO: front loop only
BLO: back loop only

Note:
I use American terminology.  Be sure to read through the pattern before you begin.  If the pattern reads, "sc, 2sc, sc2tog" it would be read as "single crochet, 2 single crochet in next stitch, single crochet the next 2 stitches together".   I like to use "invisible decreases"- use FLO, it helps the fabric lie smoother.  Stuff your project as you progress.  Unless noted otherwise the Adipose Baby is worked in amigurumi style in the round without joining. Make sure you mark your rounds, a scrap piece of contrasting yarn works great!
